The business, originally founded in 1881 by Michael G. Hayes and his wife Ellen in Ballylanders, Co. Limerick was established to provide real estate and auctioneering services to the local area. Their son Daniel J. Hayes took over the company from 1919 to 1962 and his son, Michael managed and owned the business from 1962 to 1998.
In 1980, Michael's son Daniel (D.J.) purchased a property in West End, Kilfinane, Co. Limerick and formed [company_name]. From these premises he ran a furniture and floorcovering retail outlet, alongside a branch office for the family real estate and auctioneering business.
When Michael retired in 1998, D.J. moved the main real estate office to his premises in Kilfinane while maintaining a branch office in Ballaylanders. This branch office is managed by his sister Mairead and his mother Mary Hayes.
In 2006, D.J's son Michael joined him in business and together they continue the long tradition of father and son real estate agents. D.J manages the auctioneering and real estate agent aspect of the business while Michael manages the retail outlet.
